Product Hunt Launch Campaign
If you are preparing yourself for a product launch, you probably know how important it is to be seen by the right people at the right moment. And if you have any marketing experience, you also probably know how hard this is to achieve, unless you know a trick or two about tools/software/app launching. Well, I certainly do!
Product Hunt is a website that lets people share and discover new tools, software, and apps. It was founded by Ryan Hoover and the system is very simple—you submit a product, sit back, and wait until it reaches the top. Easy, right?
Well, not really.
It was that super easy in 2013, when the website was founded and new tools appeared online every now and then. Nowadays, with new tech coming out on a daily basis, this is not as easy as you might think.
So, why would people even consider Product Hunt when it is so difficult to get to those top places? Because of its popularity, naturally.
Since 2013, Product Hunt has had enough time to become the “place to be” when it comes to new tech. Additionally, people go to Product Hunt whenever they want to check if there’s a new product out.
With all of this in mind, I can safely say that being on Product Hunt has become mandatory for every new online product. Don’t forget, though—only the best can be at the top!
My goal is not just to submit you on Product Hunt—anyone can do this (and I literally mean, anyone). My goal is to help you get the most out of that submission. To do that, I have to deal with the submission strategically.
What does that mean?
To help you understand what you will achieve, let me break down the whole process in three phases: pre-hunting, hunting and post-hunting. Each of these phases involves a set of tasks which will help you achieve several goals, from gaining traffic to actually achieving conversions. When you think about it, achieving conversions should be your main goal, and it is definitely the main goal for me.
As I said earlier, this whole process will be split into three phases:
Pre-hunting is the period of preparation and research in which I will focus on gathering as much information as possible about the community that will love your product and think of a way to reach out to that audience. Along with that, my focus will be on finding the perfect hunter for you (the one that hunts super-cool products and is loved by the hunting community).
Hunting itself (or posting at Product Hunt) needs to be done at the perfect moment by the chosen hunter. From the moment hunting begins, there is a 48-hour time frame in which your product will either hit the top and be the hero of the day, or land somewhere where just a few people can see it. My goal is to get the desired hunter to publish your product at a set timing; from that moment on, it is all about strategic communication with the whole community via different channels: Facebook, Quora, Slack, LinkedIn, etc. This will involve a lot of promotion, because there is only two days to rock it.
Everything has to be done carefully, seeing that after 48 hours new products come in and you lose your chance to reach the top. That’s why I need to make the most out of these 48 hours and help you stay at the top during them.
After I’m done with the 48-hour loop, I will evaluate everything: from traffic to real conversions. I will make a conclusion, write a post or two about an awesome experience, and share the knowledge with the community that participated in the process. After all, if not for them, none of this would be successful.
The first result you can expect is a traffic boom for your website. Thousands of people visit Product Hunt on a daily basis, so you can be sure that you will grab everyone’s attention and get visits.
Depending on your product and deals you offer on your website (for example, a special discount for Product Hunters) you can expect a major increase in conversions.
Last, but not least, product hunters can keep coming even after the hunting period, so keep your eyes on traffic and conversions even after we kiss and hug goodbye.
How long does it take to prepare for the Hunting period?
It depends on how long it will take me to get you the best influencer in the niche. Usually, this takes between 7 and 10 days. Everything else in the pre-hunting period can last from 1 to 2 days.
Will this service involve a paid promotion or only organic?
We have 2 days to shine, which means we don’t have a lot of time to rely on organic promotion, aside from posting in the right communities. Paid promotion on social media and email campaigns will be crucial to put your hunt in front of as many people as possible.
What budget do I need for promotion?
It depends on how much you are ready to spend and how big your niche is. Since it is a two-day promotion, we can spend it on social media platforms that are suitable for you: Facebook, Instagram, Quora, LinkedIn, etc. Let me know how much money you are willing to spend and I will tell you just how we can split it and if this budget is good enough for your goals.
